google, poems and free poems

google, poems and free poems

Google has really touched our lives. When it came in the market at the launch, it did not come cheap like a weak compititor. In a way google was a runawy success. Google, name itself means abundantly many. The speed it took to search, the presentation of search results, every thing attracted. It changed the name of the game. Today many google for information, they don't search.

It is not astonishing, people are dependant on google for information. What is a kind of shock, well at least to me, is they are searching google for love, free poems and love poetry. Google has a large data base of every thing its crawler gets in. I think this is the advantage it had over its rivals initially. And the google crawler doesn't hate anything.

It shook me with a jolt when google suggest showed me it had close to a billion results for free poems and free poetry and contests for free poetry and the like. I learnt there are thirteen million pages for free poems and nearly seven million pages for free poetry sites.

So, what is making google soooooooooo, popular? Is it because others don't have simillar figures to show? In fact MSN search gave me somewhere around 70000 results for each varient of the search term. Does it mean it has failed? Or is this reason enough for love struck men and women to run after google?

I think it is better left for users to decide. I for one thought fewer the results the better is sifting through the loads of results. If you have, say google gives 28 million results for a particular keyword and ten results show in a page, just imagine how many p/ages it would take you to browse through them. And by the time you finished all of them, surely the relavence of the keyword will have gone.

Then there are metacrawlers in business even before google came on the block. Infact many of them initiate google too and they sort and sift through data before they presented their result by relevance and other criteria. In the end what you get is a pale, less than 200 results. If I have to continue my argument, then I should say this is the way to search. No! Though it is easy browsing through them, I have a personal disliking for metacrawlers. How can a machine decide what I should read and not?

Well, well. google gained its popularity for its simplicity. And also for its speed. And more because it did not need any one to add their url in order to make it searcheable. It just used to gobble upon (google upon) every thing online. Many love struck poetry and free poems are survivng only because of giant strength of google today.

Should I rather have said google has really touched our loves.
